Vision Statements
1. We believe that all human
beings have a right to safely access their basic needs; shelter, food,
heat and other items during times of emergency.
2. We
understand that current social assistance rates (EI, OW, ODSP) are often
insufficient to meet these basic needs during times of emergency.
3. We recognize that living in a rural community presents its own
unique challenges such as; very limited public transit, few non-seasonal
jobs, etc.
4. We believe that non-profit agencies must work
together to best serve all of our clients, as a result we provide
referrals to other local agencies.
5. We insist on providing
confidential, non-judgmental, feminist and inclusive service to each
client we serve from all different backgrounds.
This website was created to raise awareness of the North Hastings Community Trust and provide an online source for our contact information. Occassionally, we we also post information on anti-poverty related issues and actions as well as information on local events and fundraisers.
